Description

Create your own classic Dr Pepper at home with this simple recipe. Enjoy the unique blend of flavors that make this soda pop a timeless favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups water

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon almond extract

1 tablespoon cola syrup

1 teaspoon cherry extract

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon orange extract

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon allspice

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon cardamom

1/4 teaspoon anise extract

1/4 teaspoon ginger extract

1 tablespoon citric acid

4 cups carbonated water

Instructions

Make the Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of water, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugars dissolve completely.

Add Flavorings: Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract, cola syrup, cherry extract, lemon juice, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, cardamom, anise extract, ginger extract, and citric acid. Mix well to combine all the flavors.

Cool the Syrup: Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a clean bottle or jar. Seal and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.

Mix with Carbonated Water: To serve, mix 1 part syrup with 3 parts carbonated water in a glass. Adjust the ratio to taste based on your sweetness preference.

Notes

Store any leftover syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. For a caffeine boost, consider adding cola extract to the syrup mix.
