Description

This Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein combines tender beef with vibrant broccoli and flavorful noodles in a savory sauce. It’s an easy weeknight dinner that comes together in just one pan.

Ingredients

Scale

8 oz lo mein noodles

1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 cups broccoli florets

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Noodles: In a large pot of boiling water, cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add Broccoli: Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.

Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, tossing to coat evenly.

Add Noodles: Add the cooked lo mein noodles to the skillet and drizzle with sesame oil. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through, about 2 minutes.

Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute the beef with tofu and use vegetable broth instead of oyster sauce. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
